It is a picturesque medieval village tucked into a loop of the river Serein whose fortifications are still marked by two gates. The walls enclose a network of narrow cobbled streets and squares, sometimes with names that remember the source of the village prosperity. Many period houses survive with steep gables or carved half-timbering. |
